Description

Put a fresh link between your accelerator pedal and the carburetor with the Pioneer Automotive Industries Carburetor Accelerator Cable CA-8621. It is a direct replacement for the 1968 Volkswagen Campmobile and the 1968 Volkswagen Transporter. See the Buyer’s Guide tab for engine details.

An accelerator cable carries pedal movement to the carburetor’s throttle linkage. The throttle opens as you press the pedal and can return as you let off. Pioneer offers its cables as a high-quality replacement alternative.

  • Steel inner cable: A durable steel inner cable transfers pedal travel to the throttle.
  • Polymer outer housing: The housing protects the inner cable from corrosion and abrasion.
  • Built to OE specs: The cable is manufactured to original-equipment specifications.
  • Installation pieces: Pioneer cables often include common brackets, grommets and ends where the application calls for them.

Signs this cable may need replacing include a pedal that feels stiff or sticks, a throttle that is slow to return to idle, a frayed or kinked cable, or throttle response that feels delayed. If a worn or binding accelerator cable is the cause, this part replaces it. Inspect the throttle linkage and return spring as well, since they can produce similar symptoms.
