Seal the crankcase vent and keep blowby gases in check with the Motorad Engine Crankcase Breather Cap (P/N MO75) — a press-fit metal cap designed to cover the crankcase breather port and prevent oil loss while the engine vents combustion gases. It fits a wide range of classic Chrysler, Dodge, Plymouth, and Jeep models, from the Dodge Dart and Plymouth Barracuda to the Dodge Ram 1500 and Jeep Grand Cherokee.
- OE-supplier quality: Made from quality components by an OE supplier, with proper fit and sealing engineered to prevent oil loss.
- Leak prevention: Provides a secure seal at the breather port to guard against oil seepage and crankcase contamination.
- Crankcase ventilation: Helps control crankcase ventilation by routing blow-by gases through the intended ventilation system rather than allowing oil mist or vapors to escape at the breather opening.
- Metal construction, gold finish: Metal housing with a gold-tone finish suited to the engine compartment; 1.00 in (25.40 mm) neck diameter; non-replaceable filter element; press-fit mounting.
- OEM-spec grade: Built to OE-level tolerances as a standard-replacement unit that matches the original application.
When a crankcase breather cap cracks, loosens, or loses its seal, the signs can include an oily film or residue around the valve cover and breather port, a rough or erratic idle caused by an unmetered air leak into the crankcase, and elevated oil consumption as crankcase pressure pushes oil past seals. If this cap is the source of those symptoms, swapping it with the Motorad MO75 restores the sealed, properly vented crankcase the engine needs.
