Description

Keep your electric cooling fan cycling on cue with the Four Seasons Engine Cooling Fan Temperature Switch (P/N 37838). This radiator-mounted temperature switch drops in as a direct-fit replacement for the 1996-1998 BMW Z3, the 1997 BMW 318I, and the 1997-1999 BMW 318TI [All]. As the Z3 switch that threads into the radiator, it senses coolant temperature and opens or closes the fan circuit as the engine warms and cools.

  • Brass construction for accurate temperature sensing.
  • Zinc-coated terminal to resist corrosion.
  • 3-terminal male connector with a rectangular shape and an M14 x 1.50 male fitting thread.
  • Switching temperatures: fan on at 176/190, fan off at 165/181, for staged fan control.
  • Contains gaskets, o-rings, or seals to properly replace the product.

Meets or exceeds OEM requirements. If a failed cooling fan temperature switch is the cause of a fan that won’t turn on, runs constantly, or lets the engine run hot, this switch replaces the original — diagnose the root cause before replacing, as those symptoms can have other sources.
